Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary is a lay apostolic association of Catholics. Our local chapter is "Queen of the Most Holy Rosary".

 

Provides prayers and services in support of the Clergy's initiatives, including bringing Communion to the sick and home-bound and other pastoral support. Meetings are held weekly in the Parish Hall.

 

Catechesis and Christian Initiation Instructors

Catechesis is the task of passing on the faith.  It is an essential part of the evangelizing mission of the Church. Teachers provide instruction to people all levels and ages.

Bereavement Committee

Support families experiencing loss, help prepare for funeral services and reception.

Community Outreach

All are welcome! Reaching out to our community through Edgefield County Churches Helping Others (ECCHO) and the Johnston food bank. 

Men’s Club

All men are welcome! Join us for socialization and engaging conversation about our faith in a relaxed environment. Primary activity is light maintenance projects as needed. Meetings are monthly in the Parish Hall.

Women’s Group

All women are welcome! Join us for socialization and engaging conversation about our faith in a relaxed environment. Primary activity is organizing and preparing meals for after Sunday Mass and other special events as needed. Meetings are monthly in the Parish Hall.

Liturgical Support:

Altar Servers: People who assist at the liturgy providing altar specific functions.

Greeters: Parish volunteers who warmly welcome parishioners as they enter the Church for Mass.

Lectors: Orators who proclaim the non-Gospel Scriptures at Mass and other services.

Altar Linens: Responsible for the preparation and care of the altar linens.

Music: Choir is active at the 9:00am Sunday Mass and other times, as requested.

Offertory Counters: A group that counts the funds collected at Mass each week. Each group volunteers about once a month.

Sacristan: Duties include preparing liturgical items for Mass and clean-up afterwards.

Ushers: Volunteers who assist people to their seat if necessary. They also take up the collection.

Other

As we are located in a small, rural community, we join in with our larger Churches in Aiken, North Augusta and Columbia to provide parishioners access to other actiive groups including the Knights of Columbus, the St. Vincent De Paul Society, the Cursillo Movement and the Carmelites.
